How to Get to Boracay from Manila

You have two options to get to Boracay Island from Manila:

By Land/Sea:
RoRo sailing from Batangas port to Calapan port
If you're up for an adventure and have a limited budget, you can travel to Boracay via land/sea. Travel time from Manila to Boracay via land/sea takes more or less 17 hours with stopovers. Travel time also depends on the weather condition.

From Manila, take a bus bound for Batangas Port, it's actually the same port when you go to Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro. There are lots of bus companies that operates from Manila to Batangas port. Just make sure you ride the one with a signboard Batangas Port and not just Batangas.

At the Batangas Port, you have an option to take a RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) or ferry going to Calapan, Oriental Mindoro. From Calapan, you'll have to take a bus or van going to the town of Roxas. There's a RoRo or ferry there going to Caticlan, Aklan.

From Caticlan, take a tricycle to bring you to the port going to Boracay Island. The boat ride from Caticlan to Boracay only takes 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the weather condition.

If you want a hassle free travel from Batangas to Caticlan, 2GoTravel has 2 trips daily. You can check more here
There are buses too that operate from Manila to Caticlan. One of them is Dimple Star Transport.  Click here for more details.
By Air:
Boracay Island from the plane
There's no airport in Boracay so you have to fly through Caticlan Airport  or Kalibo Airport to get there.

Caticlan (Boracay) Airport is the smallest and nearest airport to Boracay. This is mostly preferred by tourist for ease and convenience.  However, since the runway of the airport is small, only turboprop planes are allowed to fly here. As of March 2013 only Cebu Pacific Air and AirPhil Express are the only airlines that use the Caticlan Airport.

Kalibo Airport on the other hand is the major and biggest airport in Aklan. It caters to all local and international flights. It's approximately 2 hours away from Boracay Island. It can accommodate larger jet, which I mostly prefer when flying.

These are the airlines that use the Kalibo Airport:
Cebu Pacific Air
Philippine Airlines
AirAsia
Tiger Airways
